Anne Arundel County utilizes an emergency notification system, CivicReady©, capable of contacting citizens and businesses quickly in case of an emergency, such as road closures. What Is Sewer Smoke Testing?
A sewer smoke test is a process which DPW identifies defects in County sanitary sewer collection system. During this process, DPW Crews blow harmless, odorless smoke into manholes to locate pipe breaks, blockages, or improper connections. This process helps identify areas of inflow and infiltration and any defects. which are marked for future repair.
