Summer Child Care

The theme for our 2024 Summer SACC Programs is Making Maryland Memories.

This summer, we are excited to provide arts and crafts, games, activity stations, outdoor play, STEM and Literacy activities. This program will include 3 off-site field trips, and will have on-site visiting enrichments the other 4 weeks. Only children entering 1st-6th grades for the 2024-2025 School Year are eligible to attend. Please click here for a copy of our Summer SACC flier. Hours of Operation, Lunch/Snacks, and Eligibility Information

  • The summer program will operate from 7:00am until 6:00pm for seven weeks during the summer (see below session dates). The Summer SACC program will be closed on July 4 & 5, 2024 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. 
  • Snacks: 
    • There is not an AM snack offered by our staff; therefore, your family is welcome to drop your child off with a snack or breakfast from home. 
    • A PM snack will be provided by center staff. Children that do not like the offered snack are welcome to bring a snack from home. 
  • Lunches & Water Bottles: 
    • Families are asked to provide a lunch from home that does not need to be refrigerated or microwaved, and a water bottle labeled with your child’s name. 
    • At select locations that meet the necessary criteria, Anne Arundel County Public Schools will provide breakfast and lunch through our partnership with Food & Nutrition Services Division. If your site is selected, this information will be provided prior to the first day of Summer SACC.
  • Children must be entering 1st through 6th grade for the 2024-2025 School Year to be eligible to attend the Summer School Age Child Care (SACC) programs. Children must be toilet trained. Your child must be able to be self-directed and self-sufficient in the restroom and able to care for their own hygiene needs.
  • To ensure appropriate accommodation, if your child has been identified with a medical condition, disability or special needs plan, please note the information on your registration form. School Age Child Care (SACC) is planning to offer full-day (7:00am-6:00pm) Summer SACC programs at the following locations (locations are subject to change):

  • Crofton ES - 1405 Duke of Kent Drive, Crofton

  • Lake Shore ES - 4531 Mountain Road, Pasadena
  • Nantucket ES - 2350 Nantucket Drive Crofton
  • Pasadena ES - 401 East Pasadena Road, Pasadena
  • Quarterfield ES – 7967 Quarterfield Road, Severn
  • Severn ES - 838 Reece Road, Severn
  • Solley ES - 7608 Solley Road, Glen Burnie
  • South Shore ES - 1376 Fairfield Loop Road, Crownsville
  • Please be aware that the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation & Parks also offers MULTIPLE licensed summer camp opportunities across Anne Arundel County in addition to these licensed Summer Child Care programs.   • You must pay for the summer program on a bi-weekly basis ahead of service. Select only the weeks you want! If your needs should change during the summer and your family no longer needs care, you must email us at sacc@aacounty.org to withdraw.
     
  • Refund Policy: 
    A $25 processing fee will be assessed on all refunds. 10 business days' notice is required for all summer refunds. 10 business days' notice is also required for all requests to transfer fees between summer weeks. Weekly payments may be transferred between summer weeks ONE time ONLY. All refund requests for medical reasons must be accompanied by a physician's note and are handled on a case by case basis. All refund requests must be made in writing to the Child Care Administrative Office.

There is a minimum & a maximum registration for each center, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional children will be added from the wait list if/when we are able. Only children entering 1st-6th grades for the 2024-2025 School Year are eligible to attend. 
 
Summer Registration will open online February 5, 2024 at 8am.


Please be aware that there is a minimum and maximum registration for each child care center. If you are NEW to Child Care, it is highly recommended that you Create an Account prior to registration day to ease your wait time online.

Registrations may be completed by:

  1. Creating an Account. The primary account must be completed by an adult over the age of 18. An email address is required to create an account online.
  2. To register for child care, open your account on or after February 5, 2024 at 8:00am and select the child care center and the Summer Session(s) (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and/or #7) that you want for your child. See the Fee Schedule above for the dates that correspond with each weekly session.

Once you have been notified that your child has received a space in one of our programs:

  • The next step is to review the Required Forms for Admission flier. These forms are mandated as required by the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care.
  • If your child is NEW to our licensed child care program, your child must have these forms completed and on file at the site on their first day. Please be aware that the Health Inventory requires a physician’s signature. Open the Forms and Publications page to download the required forms.
  • If your child is RETURNING to our licensed child care program from care with us within the past year, your child’s file will be moved to their summer location. Parents will be asked to provide a new Emergency Form & update the file as needed on their first day.
