Child Care

Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks offers a state-licensed child care program that provides a safe, supportive environment that promotes social interaction, community integration, physical development and intellectual growth in accordance with the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care and National After School Alliance Standards.

Our state-licensed School Age Child Care (SACC), Child Enrichment Centers (CEC), full-day and before-and-after-school Pre-K, and Middle School Teen Group (MSTG) programs are located within your neighborhood school and/or recreation center facility.

The Middle School Teen Group (MSTG) before-and-after school program operates from end of school until 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session for students. This program is for children who are entering grades 6, 7, and 8. Every child must have all of the State mandated forms completed and on file at the center prior to their first day. No one will be allowed to attend the program without this information. MSTG is a separate entity from the school therefore any documents (health inventory, custody, etc.) must also be submitted to MSTG. Those children returning to the program will need to verify with the Center Director that their files are completed and up-to-date. Children who attended one of our elementary sites will be able to transfer their file to the middle school. There is a maximum capacity for each center. Visit the School Age Child Care page for more information.

Child Enrichment Center (CEC) programs are specially funded, licensed child care programs. The CEC programs are designed to address the safety, social and recreational needs of the children in their care. School year activities include the following: PM snack, homework/literacy time, outdoor play (weather permitting), arts & crafts time, and organized games. Call (410) 222-7865 for additional information.
