Boat Ramps

There are two boat ramp sites that are paved ramps intended for use by trailer-mounted boats in Anne Arundel County. Learn more about the boat ramps at Fort Smallwood Park and Solleys Cove Park.

Discovery Village Closure Notice

Beginning or around Monday, November 3, the parking lot at the Discovery Village Boat Ramp will be closed to all traffic for asphalt paving. This closure is expected to last for five days, depending on weather conditions. The County currently has a partnership with Parish Creek Landing, located at 4819 Woods Wharf Road, Shady Side, MD, offering free public boat ramp access through the end of 2025.

County statement on reopening of Discovery Village

On October 16th County Executive Steuart Pittman announced a new agreement between Anne Arundel County and Discovery Village Shady Side, LLC to provide public water access by reopening the county’s boat ramp at Discovery Village, effective immediately. Read Press Release
