The Partnership has received grant funding from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to provide critical assistance to families with children enrolled in one of Anne Arundel County’s Community Schools. The purpose of this funding is to support students enrolled in community schools whose families are experiencing housing instability or homelessness. Our hope is that participation in this program will provide the stability necessary for students to focus on their education and achieve academic success.
This funding can be used to pay:
- Rental arrears/overdue rent to help keep a family housed
- Utility arrears/overdue utility bills (including electricity, gas, water, and internet)
- Security deposit, first months rent, and/or moving-related expenses for families that are currently unhoused or are currently in an unsafe housing situation
In order to be eligible to apply, you must have at least one child in your household that is currently enrolled in a Community School in Anne Arundel County. The full list of Community Schools can be found here: www.aacps.org/page/community-schools
In order to have your application processed and approved, you will need to be able to provide:
- Proof of your child’s enrollment in an Anne Arundel County Community School (or the Partnership will need to verify with the school directly)
- Documentation of your residence and the bill(s) you need assistance to pay
- Information on the members of your household and household income
If you do not have all of these items at the time of application, you can provide them after submission.
