Senior Center Plus is a structured, supervised day program for those seniors who may not be able to navigate the Senior Activity Centers independently. Senior Center Plus offers a level of care between Independent Participation and Adult Day Care. The Program is offered in the Senior Activity Center and is supervised by 2 Certified Nursing Assistants and coordinated by a Registered Nurse.

The program offers daily structured activities in a safe supervised environment while addressing the functional, emotional and social needs of the qualified seniors who participate. Participants enjoy and benefit from a variety of activities such as chair exercises, arts and crafts, games, social outings and entertainment, while the caregiver can enjoy a few hours of respite. Lunch and Transportation are provided at no cost however donations for these services are accepted.

Virtual Senior Center Plus

Virtual Senior Center Plus is an engaging program for seniors with memory and or functioning challenges that may require assistance. The hour and a half program is comprised of brain stimulating games and activities; it also has an exercise segment to increase range of motion; and allows participants socialization through the virtual platform. Requirements include being 55 years or older, registering for the program, access to a Zoom capable device, and caregiver to assist the participant with the device. There are eligibility requirements and a fee for the Program:

  • Be a current resident of Anne Arundel County
  • Be at least 55 years of age
  • Be able to independently use the restroom
  • Be able to independently feed yourself
  • Be able to communicate needs to staff


This is a fee for service program with a cost of $20.00 per day.

How to

All potential participants receive a free evaluation from a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Social Worker from the Anne Arundel County Department of Health to determine qualification for this program as well as possibly qualifying for other programs offered at the Department of Aging and Disabilities.
