Youth Football

Youth tackle football is held in the fall season. (August-November)

There are approximately over 100 Recreation Councils and Athletic Associations throughout Anne Arundel County, which organize teams to enter participants in the Department's organized sports leagues. Contact your community’s Recreation Councils or Athletic Association to register for youth league sports. With the exception of a few sports, the Department does not register or assign individual players to teams. Established teams register with the Department at our organizational team meetings.

Team Registration:Team registrations and payment are due to Recreation & Parks on or before July 31, 2026. Registrations received after July 31, 2026 may be subject to league availability and a $25 per team late fee.
Registration Fee:$125 per team - In County Teams
$250 per team - Out-of-County Teams

Referee Fee:$60.00  per official per game  ($180.00 per game)

Background Check:All coaches and team volunteers must complete and pass an Anne Arundel County background check prior to coaching or assisting a team. Once that background check has been completed the volunteer can attend any of the weigh-ins to get their team ID card. If you need to complete a background check application please visit the Volunteer Background Check page.
  AAYFA Coaches meeting:  Mandatory for all head coaches and encouraged for all others
