Anne Arundel County Disparity Study
The 2022 disparity study reviews the Small, Woman or Minority Business Enterprise (SWMBE) Program relative to Anne Arundel County’s overall purchasing policies and procedures.
The Office of Central Services is responsible for the operation & maintenance of the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program. The program was created to foster equitable participation of minority & women-owned businesses in the County’s procurement and contracting process through outreach with staff, diversity organizations and private sector businesses.
Policy Statement
It is the policy of Anne Arundel County to ensure that minority & women-owned business enterprises have the maximum opportunity to participate in performance of all county contracts for supplies & services.
Services
MBE Program staff serve as advocates for equal business opportunity in procurement and function to:
- provide technical assistance to minority & women-owned businesses
- monitor and report on effectiveness of County procurement efforts (excerpts from Annual Report of the Purchasing Agent)
- update & maintain Anne Arundel County Directory of Minority & Women-owned
- develop effective public/private partnerships by creating networking opportunities for local business, County staff and private sector companies
- promote the growth & development of Anne Arundel County minority & women-owned business community
