Daycare facilities are inspected by Fire Marshal Division personnel on an annual basis as part of the State of Maryland, Department of Human Resources, Child Care Administration licensing requirements and Fire Marshal Division Priority and Frequency Inspection policy.

Requirements for Daycare occupancies are found in National Fire Protection Association - NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, 2018 edition, as amended. Amendments to the Life Safety Code are found in the Maryland State Fire Prevention Code and Anne Arundel County Fire Prevention Code.
