Mayo Beach Park

Mayo Beach Park is located on the South River and Chesapeake Bay in Edgewater, Maryland. The park is a managed access park that is open to the public on specific days. A park pass is required to enter the park.

Mayo Beach Shoreline Restoration

Mayo Beach Park will be undergoing Shoreline Restoration on October 16, 2023 through April 2024. In addition to the Cartop Launch closure, the beach area will be closed to public access as well. The playground and picnic areas remain open.

Mayo Beach Cartop Boat Launch Closure

Cartop Boat Launch at Mayo Beach Park will be temporarily closed starting October 16, 2023 through April 2024 due to shoreline construction. Visit the Cartop Boat Launch page for other water access points.

Mayo Beach Park Open Days

Mayo Beach Park Open Days

Mayo Beach Park open days are free and open to the general public. Guests will be required to obtain a Mayo Beach Park pass from on weekends and holidays to enter the park. This pass is free but must be reserved before coming to the park. This system allows us to decrease traffic congestion on residential roads, better manage visitor expectations, and reduce the stress on staff from both workload and customer frustration.

Mayo Beach Park sits at the mouth of the South River and the Chesapeake Bay. The park is available to groups on a permit basis for civic and nonprofit organizations, weddings, receptions, company picnics and family reunions. The park is also open for managed public access during specific days.
