Any dog living in Anne Arundel County that is 6 months of age or older must have an Anne Arundel County license. Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required to obtain a license, which may be for either one year or three years. A three-year license requires that the pet have a rabies vaccination that is good for all three years.

Licenses may be purchased online using the Animal Services Online Payment System.
Fees
* Proof of altering, senior or disabled status, or of kennel license ownership is required for application discounts *
The 1 year fee for a license is:
- for each dog not spayed or neutered - $15.00
- for each spayed or neutered dog - $2.00
- for an owner who is at least 60 years old (Senior) or is receiving disability benefits (disabled) as a result of a finding of permanent and total disability under the Social Security Act or the Railroad Retirement Act or by the United States Civil Service Commission or the Veterans Administration: (i) for each dog NOT spayed or neutered - $8.00 (ii) for each spayed or neutered dog - No charge
- for any seeing eye, hearing ear, special assistance dog or a dog trained and registered in the K-9 Corps - No charge
The 3 year fee for a license is:
- for each dog not spayed or neutered - $40.00
- for each spayed or neutered dog - $5.00
- for an owner who is at least 60 years old (Senior) or is receiving disability benefits (disabled) as a result of a finding of permanent and total disability under the Social Security Act or the Railroad Retirement Act or by the United States Civil Service Commission or the Veterans Administration: (i) for each dog NOT spayed or neutered - $20.00 (ii) for each spayed or neutered dog - No charge
