Campfire Chat at Bacon Ridge Nature Area

What Makes Bacon Ridge Special

Date/Time

Saturday, Nov 7, 2026
-

Location

1284 Bacon Ridge Road, Crownsville, MD 21032

Gather around a campfire at one of your favorite parks this fall for a series of engaging and informative chats. Each week Park Rangers and local experts will lead discussions on a different theme, exploring topics about conservation, history, culture, music, and more. Bring a portable camp chair and share s’mores and stories by the fire, or sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening.

Bacon Ridge Natural Area is more than a beautiful place to hike. It’s part of a larger landscape of forests, wetlands, farms and natural areas that provide habitat for wildlife, protect our waterways and give our community places to connect with nature. Join Scenic Rivers Land Trust staff for an interactive conversation about what makes Bacon Ridge special, why connected conserved lands matter, and how you can be a partner in working to conserve the South River Greenway. We’ll share stories about the land and wildlife of the area, explore the many benefits of land conservation, and invite you to share your own observations and questions about this remarkable place.

A $5.00 registration fee covers program costs. S’mores supplies will be provided. Please register online. For more information please contact Park Ranger Quinn Newbill at rpnewb20@aacounty.org.
