Planning Advisory Board

The Planning Advisory Board (PAB) makes advisory recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Officer and the County Council relating to the Master Plan, the zoning maps, and rules and regulations relating to zoning.

General Information

The Anne Arundel County Planning Advisory Board (PAB) is authorized by Anne Arundel County Charter Sec. 532-533.  The PAB consists of seven qualified voters appointed by the County Executive who serve four-year terms.  The terms are coterminous with the term of the County Executive however members may be reappointed.  The PAB is required by the Charter to hold at least 10 regularly monthly meetings each year and is tasked with making advisory recommendations to the County Executive, Planning and Zoning Officer and the County Council relating to master plans, zoning maps, rules and regulations relating to zoning, Capital Budget and Program and amendments to the Budget.  In addition, in accordance with Code of Maryland § 5-104, the PAB reviews and makes recommendations for major subdivisions within the County’s designated Tier III area.

Meeting Information

The Planning Advisory Board is scheduled to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month as needed.  Meeting notices are posted to this site as they become available.
