Operational Changes

Please read this important update regarding operational changes beginning December 18, 2021.

How to

Low cost rabies vaccinations and microchip implantations are available on specific Thursdays (except holidays)  at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control. Times are dependent on the season and we do have some clinics with special hours.  The veterinarian leaves promptly at the end time for the clinic. Depending on the length of the line, Animal Care & Control may conclude the line at an appropriate time to ensure all individuals remaining in line receive the services.

Please note clinics are weather permitting and may be canceled for high temperatures, low temperatures, precipitation, air quality or any other factors that may increase risks to citizens or animals at the outdoor clinic.

Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.

See below for clinic times and exceptions to normal times.

More Info

Each year Anne Arundel County has numerous cases involving rabid animals and thousands of lost pets come through our shelter each year.  To help protect Anne Arundel County pets and people from the deadly rabies virus and to promote the reuniting of lost pets with their families, Animal Care & Control holds weekly low cost rabies and microchip clinics. Keep your pet continuously vaccinated against rabies, microchip your pets and keep your pets licensed. In Anne Arundel County dogs and cats are required BY LAW to be vaccinated against rabies and licensed with the County.

Due to health and safety concerns for animals and humans alike, our Rabies Clinic will be canceled on any day that the anticipated heat index is above 100 degrees or if other inclement weather that could jeopardize the safety of pets and humans occurs.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Be sure to bring a bowl and water for your animals to drink while you wait in line!
