Location

Emory Waters Nature Preserve, 6030 Pindell Road, Lothian, MD 20711

Gather around a campfire at one of your favorite parks this fall for a series of engaging and informative chats. Each week Park Rangers and local experts will lead discussions on a different theme, exploring topics about conservation, history, culture, music, and more. Bring a portable camp chair and share s’mores and stories by the fire, or sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening.

Pull up a chair with Donald Smith, prior Jug Bay staff member and life-long resident, to explore the rich, complex legacy of the crop that built southern Anne Arundel County. Learn how tobacco shaped local life, gave rise to iconic barns, and created generations of rural tradition. Uncover the rise, fall, and lasting cultural imprint tobacco has left on southern Anne Arundel County.

A $5.00 registration fee covers program costs. S’mores supplies will be provided. Please register online. For more information please contact Park Ranger Quinn Newbill at rpnewb20@aacounty.org.
