Public Invited to Walk, Run, Roll, or Bike to the dedication on the B&A Trail behind Big Bean in Severna Park

The Department of Recreation & Parks, Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails, and Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (“BikeAAA”) invite you to a brief dedication ceremony for Tom Caraker III Plaza on Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m. The expanded and improved popular rest area on the B&A Trail in Severna Park, MD, is behind the Big Bean Coffee Shop and other shops (Address: 558 B&A Blvd, Severna Park). The event is free and open to the public.

Tom Caraker III was known to many as the “Mayor of the B&A Trail” and a familiar, welcoming face to regular trail users. He consistently racked up the most miles biking the B&A Trail as an ambassador, greeting and helping regulars and newcomers to the trail. The Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails and Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BikeAAA) raised money after his passing in Tom’s memory to expand Caraker Plaza.

Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, roll, or run to the site and can use various parking areas with access to the trail. Attendees should stay off the trail as it will be in active use on a Saturday morning.
