Civilian Ride Along Program

The Anne Arundel County Police Department participates in a ride along program that provides citizens the opportunity to learn what a typical day in the life of a police officer is like.

About the Program

This program encourages community involvement in law enforcement, opens lines of communications between police and citizens, and educates the public.  The program is designed to allow residents the opportunity to accompany an officer during his or her tour of duty and gives a better understanding of police operations.  Prior to participating in the program, interested individuals must select one of the links below and fill out all of the information requested.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department participates in a ride along program that provides citizens the opportunity to learn what a typical day in the life of a police officer is like. Completing the ride along request form does not guarantee that your ride along will be approved.

What to Expect

Completing this request does not guarantee that your ride along will be approved. If approved for a ride along please bring the following with you when you show up for your scheduled ride along.:

NO WEAPONS will be allowed on the ride along. Officers will verify that there are no weapons prior to beginning the ride along. Appropriate attire is required for ride alongs. Baggie clothing, clothing with inappropriate wording or slogans etc. will NOT be allowed. The on duty supervisor at the district of the ride along will decline the ride along if the clothing is deemed inappropriate.
