Northern District

Carjacking -Glen Burnie

On September 20, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a carjacking in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. Upon arrival, the victim advised that she was in the parking lot of the Giant grocery store when four or five juvenile male suspects approached her demanding money and a ride to Baltimore. When the victim refused, one juvenile displayed a small knife and pushed the victim into her vehicle. The victim drove the juveniles to Baltimore. When they arrived at their destination, the victim pulled out her own knife, causing the juveniles to flee. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Eastern District

First-Degree Assault (Firearm) - Glen Burnie

On September 20, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers responded for an assault that occurred in the 6900 Glen Ridge Circle in Glen Burnie. Responding officers learned that the 74-year-old male suspect got into a verbal argument with an adult female. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly pointed his lawfully owned and possessed firearm at the female victim. No shots were fired. Responding officers seized the firearm. The suspect was taken into custody and charged.

Western District

Vandalism / Hate Crime (Place of Worship) - Laurel

On September 20, 2023, officers responded for a vandalism at the First Christian Church located at 3511 Tejon Road in Laurel. The church pastor reported that on September 16, 2023, he noticed that someone had defaced an exterior church sign by writing ”God is good” and other illegible graffiti with a permanent marker. The church repaired the damage prior to meeting with the officer. Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155.
