On October 6, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a school resource officer at Glen Burnie High School was notified by administrators that a backpack containing a handgun was found unattended in a classroom. The backpack was secured and taken to an administrative office. The weapon, a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun, was seized. Through investigative means, school administrators and school resource officers identified the owner of the backpack, an AACPS substitute teacher, who was taken into custody and charged.

Assault (Firearm) - Glen Burnie

On October 7, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of an armed male suspect at a residence in the 200 block of Margate Drive in Glen Burnie. The suspect entered the home and threatened a resident with a handgun, accusing them of stealing his drugs (PCP). When the victim denied having it, the suspect fled. Northern District

First Degree Assault (Arrest Update) - Pasadena

On September 22, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Mountain Road in Pasadena. The victim advised that as he was approaching Mountain Road from Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, he encountered the suspect operating an ATV in the roadway. As the victim was driving down Mountain Road, he got into the left turn lane, which is when the suspect thought the victim had cut him off. The suspect pulled alongside the right of the victim’s vehicle and pointed a small black handgun at the victim. Officers observed a subject with a green hoodie and dreadlocks operating an ATV, also matching the description given by the victim, on Freetown Road, turning westbound onto Mountain Road. Officers attempted to stop the suspect, but he refused to stop and continued driving. Officers lost sight of the suspect in the area of Freetown Road. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6135. Black male in his mid-twenties, long dreadlocks with bleached streaks, wearing a green jacket/ hoodie and darker-colored pants.

Update - October 9, 2023:

Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify the suspect. On October 6, 2023, detectives located the suspect at a residence in the 500 block of Kingdom Court in Odenton. A search warrant was executed at the residence, resulting in the seizure of a loaded 9mm Canik handgun and a loaded Stouger STR9 handgun. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Eastern District

Shots Fired - Glen Burnie

On October 8, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of shots heard in the 8000 block of Green Orchard Road in Glen Burnie. Upon arrival, a witness reported they heard several gunshots and observed a muzzle flash of a gun. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate any victims or suspects. Western District

Shooting (Contact) - Severn

On October 8, 2023, at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers responded for a report of gunshots in the 1100 block of Reece Road in Severn. Responding officers located several spent shell casings, but did not find any victims. At 10:05 p.m., a 20-year-old male victim arrived at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center seeking treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim advised he was shot at in the area of Reece Road and Pioneer Drive in Severn. Officers and detectives searched the area but were unable to locate any suspects.
