Double Homicide - Annapolis

On May 5, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 2100 block of Somerville Road in Annapolis. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect shot a male and female in the parking lot; he then shot himself. The female victim and the male suspect were pronounced deceased on the scene. The male victim fled to a neighboring shopping center and was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives are investigating and ask anyone with any information to call 410-222-4731 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

There is no information regarding a motive at this time.

Northern District
Stabbing - Glen Burnie

On May 6, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a stabbing that just occurred in the 7700 block of Overhill Road in Glen Burnie. The adult male victim reported that he was involved in a verbal argument with his adult male roommate, which turned physical. During the assault, the roommate retrieved a kitchen knife and slashed the victim’s arm. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Northern District
Attempted Robbery / Shooting (Non-Contact) - Glen Burnie

On May 7, 2023, at approximately 2:50 a.m., officers responded for an attempted robbery and a gunshot fired in the 200 block of Margate Drive in Glen Burnie. The adult male victim ordered a ride-share from Baltimore to his residence in Glen Burnie. When the car arrived, an unknown male entered the ride-share with the victim uninvited. Both individuals got out of the vehicle at the victim’s residence, and the suspect attempted to rob the victim. The suspect withdrew a handgun from his waistband. The victim and suspect struggled over the gun, and one round was discharged. No one was stuck by the projectile. The victim was able to get the gun away from the suspect, who fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6135 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.

Shooting (Non-contact) - Glen Burnie

On May 7, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of a shooting that just occurred in the area of Heritage Hills Drive and Polk Drive in Glen Burnie. During their investigation, officers found numerous spent casings in the area of Lamplighter Ridge, which is in close proximity to the intersection where the complainant heard the shots. Aside from the casings, officers found damage to the poolhouse on Lamplighter Ridge. No witnesses came forward that actually witnessed the shooting. Eastern District
Home Invasion - Curtis Bay

On May 6, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a home invasion that just occurred in the 8100 block of High Point Road in Curtis Bay. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victims inside of the residence. The victims stated that two black males wearing all-black clothing, both armed with handguns, approached one of the victims as they were standing in front of the residence. The suspects rushed the victim and forced him inside the residence. Once inside, all remaining occupants were forced into the living room. The suspects demanded drugs and money from the victims. The suspects entered one of the bedrooms and began destroying property. It was at this time that the family dog began to attack the suspects. One of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the dog. The suspects fled the residence in an unknown direction. The dog was transported to a local veterinarian hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Suspects: two black males, last seen wearing all dark clothing and masks, both armed with handguns. 


 

Western District
Shooting - Odenton

On May 7, 2023, at approximately 1:45 a.m., officers responded for a report of a shooting at the My Place Bar, 1676 Annapolis Road in Odenton. Upon arrival, officers located the adult male victim in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to his upper body. According to witnesses, the victim got into an argument with the suspect inside the bar. The suspect produced a handgun and fired several times, striking the victim. Witnesses wrestled the handgun away from the suspect, who fled the bar on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Suspect: black male, approximately 5’-06’’, 150-160 lbs, with short dreadlock hair.


 

Southern District
1st Degree Assault - Annapolis
23-716143

On May 6, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of an assault that just occurred in the 2600 block of Riva Road in Annapolis. The victim informed officers that the suspect arrived at the location, and got they got into a verbal dispute. During the dispute, the suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. A struggle ensued over the handgun, which the victim was able to take from the suspect. The suspect got into a vehicle and fled. An officer located the vehicle in the area of Route 50 and Interstate 97 while canvassing the area. Officers discovered that the handgun used in the incident was a BB gun. There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Robbery (Citizen) - Edgewater

On May 6, 2023, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery that occurred earlier in the 3200 block of Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. The victim informed officers that they were at the drive-thru ATM at Bank of America, 3224 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. The victim inserted his card into the ATM and put in his PIN when the unknown suspect walked up from behind the victim’s vehicle and put a gun against the victim’s head. The suspect withdrew money from the victim's account and ran in an unknown direction. The victim was not able to provide a suspect description.
