The victim, an adult male, told officers he was leaving the store’s vestibule when several suspects approached him and began to assault him. During the altercation, the victim attempted to draw a handgun, and the suspects struggled to take it. The victim discharged the gun during the struggle, striking one of the suspects. The suspects then fled the mall with the victim’s handgun and cell phone. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the assault.

The Police Department’s Real Time Information Center (RTIC), in coordination with mall personnel, identified the suspects and the suspect vehicle, a black Nissan Altima.
