On March 3, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Western District officers responded to the 400 block of Lisa Avenue in Odenton for a family violence call with a shot fired. Officers arrived on scene and learned the adult male son had stolen a personal item from his mother and then assaulted and injured her. After the assault, the suspect’s stepfather went outside to call police and was confronted by the suspect, who was armed with a knife. The stepfather obtained a handgun and discharged it, striking his stepson in the lower extremity. The suspect was taken to an area trauma center for treatment. Western District detectives responded to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the ongoing investigation. A warrant has been obtained charging the adult male son with first- and second-degree assault and theft. The suspect's name will be released once he is served with the warrant.
