Sexual Solicitation of a Minor Arrest
In August 2025, the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit received a Cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip detailed allegations of an adult male engaging a juvenile female in illicit online communication, during which images were allegedly exchanged.
Through the investigation, ICAC detectives identified the adult male as Juan Francisco Palacios-Velazquez. Palacios-Velazquez is a local baseball trainer who used a training facility in Anne Arundel County. During the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant and seized numerous items of evidence related to the ongoing investigation. The training facility he used was notified that Palacios-Velazquez was under investigation regarding child safety.
Detectives ultimately presented the case to the State’s Attorney’s Office and on February 26, 2026, an application for charges was submitted to the Court Commissioner charging Juan Francisco Palacios-Velazquez with Sexual Solicitation of a Minor, Solicitation of Child Pornography and Child Pornography – Permitting Sex Subject. Palacios-Velazquez was arrested by the Sheriff's Department on February 27, 2026. He was initially held without bond and subsequently released on his own recognizance on March 2, 2026.

Attempt to Locate Assault Suspect - Glen Burnie

On February 28, 2026, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Eastern District officers responded to the Soda Pop Shop located in the 300 block of Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie for a report of an assault. Preliminary investigation revealed a verbal altercation took place between an adult male customer and juveniles inside the store. The incident escalated when the adult male suspect produced a handgun, pointed it at the juveniles and assaulted one victim with the handgun. The suspect then left the area on foot and was last seen walking in the 1800 block of Crain Highway South. Eastern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information on the whereabouts or identity of the pictured individual to contact 410-222-3502.
