1st Degree Assault - Glen Burnie

On June 7, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of an assault that just occurred in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. During their investigation officers learned that the victim and suspect were involved in a minor motor vehicle collision in the parking lot. Both parties engaged in a verbal argument and the suspect retrieved a straight stick, similar to a shovel handle, from the trunk of their car. The suspect struck the victim numerous times before retreating to his vehicle and fleeing the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical aid at the scene. Officers located the suspect's vehicle and the suspect a short time later. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
