Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash – Severn

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to Route 32 East, just beyond the Telegraph Road overpass, for a single-vehicle crash involving a vehicle fire. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro left the roadway, struck the center median guardrail, and came to rest in the median before becoming engulfed in flames. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The driver and multiple witnesses remained on the scene until officers arrived. EMS transported the driver of the vehicle to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger (identity withheld pending next of kin notification) was pronounced deceased at the scene. This incident is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Robbery of a Citizen – Severna Park

On June 16, 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm, officers responded for a report of a Robbery of a Citizen in the 800 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Severna Park. Two suspects arrived in a ride-share to sell the victim shoes. The suspects brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s money. The suspects fled the scene after assaulting the victim and stealing his shoes. Officers canvassed the area with the assistance of K9, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Eastern District

Weapons Offense / CDS – Glen Burnie

On June 16th, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., detectives from the Eastern District Strategic Patrol Team were conducting proactive enforcement in the 200 block of Marley Meadow Lane in Glen Burnie. Detectives observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction between the occupants of two vehicles. Detectives detained both suspects and a subsequent search yielded suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA, Suboxone, Oxycodone, a digital scale and a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The handgun was reported stolen in a gun shop burglary in Anne Arundel County in 2021. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly and served with two outstanding warrants.

Robbery of a Citizen – Hanover

On June 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 pm, officers responded for a report of a Robbery of a Citizen in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. During their investigation, officers learned that the victim met with a female earlier in the day and went to a hotel room. The female suspect left the room and two male suspects armed with handguns immediately entered and robbed the victim. Surveillance video shows the suspects leaving the hotel through a stairwell, and all three suspects entered a compact, silver Chevrolet SUV (possibly a Chevrolet TRAX), driven by a fourth suspect and fled the area.

Criminal Investigation Division

Attempted Robbery – Glen Burnie

On June 16, 2025, at approximately 3:00 pm, officers responded for a report of an Attempted Robbery at the Wells Fargo in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The suspect approached the teller and demanded money. The suspect, who did not appear to be armed, dropped a napkin on the ground that had the demands written on it. After realizing the teller activated the hold-up alarm, the suspect fled in an unknown direction, without obtaining any money. Officers and additional resources searched the area with negative results.
