On July 28, 2025, at approximately 10:10 a.m., a detective with the Southern District observed a male with an outstanding arrest warrant at a gas station in the 100 block of Solomons Island Road. As the detective approached the individual as he exited the gas station, the male attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended. Further investigation led to the seizure of approximately seven grams of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl from the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Shooting (Contact) Update – Hanover

On June 20, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Arundel Mills Boulevard and Arundel Way in Hanover for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located several vehicles that had been struck by gunfire. One individual, a 21-year-old female, sustained a non-life-threatening injury to her upper body. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The preliminary investigation suggests that gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles, with the uninvolved victim caught in the crossfire. The involved vehicles fled the area prior to police arrival. This is an active and ongoing investigation. Western District detectives ask that anyone with information that could help this investigation contact them at 410-222-6155. Update - July 29, 2025:

Anne Arundel County Police Real Time Information Center personnel immediately began a review of surveillance footage in the area and provided patrol officers with a description of the suspect vehicle. Through additional investigation, RTIC team members indicated the vehicle was possibly in the vicinity of the Meade Village community and patrol officers subsequently located the unoccupied suspect vehicle. Items of evidentiary value were observed, and the vehicle was secured for processing. All relevant evidence and investigative information were forwarded to the Western District Detective Unit for continued investigation.

The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant by Western District detectives on the vehicle, resulting in the seizure of evidence related to the shooting in Hanover. Additional investigation connected the vehicle to a suspect. Through investigative means, two additional suspects were developed along with four addresses- three in Meade Village and one in Baltimore City. On July 18, 2025, search warrants were conducted at all four residences, resulting in the seizure of several firearms, extended magazines, electronic devices, more than $5,600 in U.S. currency, 5,828 grams of suspected cannabis, and approximately 31 grams of suspected PCP. As a result of one of the search warrants in Meade Village, a fourth suspect, Davon Hughes was charged with various CDS offenses and a firearm offense.
