Fatal Crash - Glen Burnie

On July 24, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Northern District officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Ritchie Highway at Holsum Way. Once on the scene, the Crash Reconstruction Team was requested.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford E450 Transit bus was turning left onto Holsum Way from southbound Ritchie Highway on a green signal. A Suzuki motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the side of the bus which had no passengers onboard. The operator of the motorcycle suffered fatal injuries. The name of the deceased operator is not being released at this time.
The Crash Reconstruction Team processed the scene and will be handling the investigation.

Western District
Weapons Offense - Laurel

On July 23, 2026, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Western District officers were patrolling in the 3300 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road when they conducted a traffic stop on a Volkswagen Jetta for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the passenger was acting in a suspicious manner. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a firearm located directly under the seat the passenger was sitting in. The passenger was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and numerous related charges.
