On July 17, 2023, just before midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Ft. Smallwood Road and Appian Way in Pasadena. During the investigation, officers suspected the driver of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. As the driver exited the vehicle officers observed a black semi-automatic handgun in plain view in the passenger compartment. At the completion of the investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with DUI and weapon-related offenses.
