Search Warrant / CDS Violation - Glen Burnie

On January 8, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded for a disorderly subject at the Red Roof Inn at 6600 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, whom they knew to have outstanding warrants, and placed him in custody. Upon viewing suspected CDS (Promethazine/Codeine) inside the suspect’s room, detectives secured the room until a search warrant was obtained. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 281.47 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 4.79 grams of suspected crack cocaine, one suspected Adderall pill, 10 suspected Alprazolam pills, 2.5 suspected Clonazepam pills, approximately 1938 grams of suspected Promethazine, and a 9 mm Glock semi-automatic handgun. Officers determined the suspect is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was charged accordingly.

Carjacking - Glen Burnie

On January 8, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to an armed carjacking at the Sunoco gas station located at 327 Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie. The adult female victim was fueling her vehicle when she was approached by an unknown male who pointed a handgun at her and told her to leave. The victim went into the gas station, and the suspect fled in the victim’s 2017 black Lexus IS300 toward Elvaton Road. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 410-222-6145. Western District

Serious Injury Crash / Hanover
24-700929

On January 8, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic crash on Arundel Mills Boulevard at Mills Drive in Hanover, where a bicyclist was struck. The investigation would reveal that a 2017 Honda Accord was traveling east on Arundel Mills Boulevard approaching Mills Drive while a motor-assisted bicycle was crossing Arundel Mills Boulevard from Mills Drive in a southerly direction. According to witnesses, the Honda had a steady green light, and the bicyclist entered the eastbound travel lanes without yielding to the Honda. Subsequently, the Honda struck the cyclist. 
 
The driver of the Honda came to a controlled stop and remained on scene uninjured. The bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for advanced medical care. 
  
The Traffic Safety Section is investigating this crash.
