On January 3, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers responded for an armed robbery in the 3400 block of Londonleaf Court in Laurel. A 33-year-old male ride-share driver was about to complete a fare when the passenger, who was seated in the rear, pressed an unknown object against the driver’s back, implied he had a weapon, and demanded his cell phone. The victim complied, and the suspect got out of the vehicle and began walking away. The driver followed the suspect, who dropped the victim’s phone.
Responding officers located the suspect who was arrested and charged.
