Fatal Crash Shady Side

On January 13, 2024 at 0913 hours, Southern District officers responded to southbound Shady Side Road near Halie Parkway for a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 2017 Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on Shady Side Road approaching Halie Parkway when the driver of the vehicle failed to negotiate the curve, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole. The front seat passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire officials. A juvenile passenger was transported to Children’s National Hospital as a precaution. The driver was uninjured. This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
