Child Abuse Sex Offense (Arrest) – Brooklyn

The Anne Arundel County Police Department became aware of an alleged child abuse sex offense that occurred during the 1990s in the 200 block of Bishop Avenue in Brooklyn. According to the two victims, when they were between the ages of six and ten, they were sexually assaulted by their babysitter's son, who was approximately 18-21 years old at the time. The victims made a report, and an investigation was immediately launched.

After coordinating with the Anne Arundel County State Attorney's Office, detectives applied for and received charges against the suspect. On January 11, 2024, the suspect was arrested on the two open arrest warrants.

Western District

First Degree Assault - Hanover 

On January 11, 2024, at approximately 10:55 a.m., officers responded for a road rage that occurred on Annapolis Road near Piedmont Lane in Hanover. The suspect, who was operating a black Chevy sedan, was attempting to drive around the victim, who was operating a dump truck. The suspect pulled up next to the victim, rolled his window down, and pointed a black handgun at the victim. The victim immediately turned, and the suspect continued eastbound on Annapolis Road. Officers canvassed the area and could not locate the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 410-222-6155. Attempted Carjacking - Hanover

On January 11, 2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers responded for a report of an attempted carjacking that occurred on January 10, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Ashton Road in Hanover. The 44-year-old female victim stated she was sitting in her parked vehicle when a dark-colored sedan pulled up in an attempt to prevent her from driving away. A male suspect got out of the sedan, implied he had a handgun, and ordered her out of her blue 2022 Toyota Camry. The victim was able to back her vehicle and get away unharmed.
