First-Degree Assault (Stabbing) - Crownsville

On February 27, 2024 at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers responded for a stabbing in the 900 block of Hine Trail in Crownsville. Two males, who were known to each other, were engaged in an argument which escalated to a physical altercation. One of the males withdrew a knife and stabbed the 23-year-old victim. The suspect fled in a gold sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. On February 28, 2024, Western District detectives located the suspect who was arrested and charged accordingly.

Pedestrian Related Crash - Parole

On February 27, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Solomons Island Road at MD Route 665 in Parole. The investigation would reveal that a 2006 Toyota Scion was traveling south on Solomons Island Road attempting to merge onto MD Route 665 East when it struck a pedestrian who was walking in the travel lanes. At the time of the incident, there was rain falling and the pedestrian was dressed in all dark clothing. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured and immediately stopped after the crash where he called 911 for assistance. The Traffic Safety Section is investigating this crash.
