On December 9, 2023, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the Motel 6 located at 3510 Old Annapolis Road in Laurel for the report of a carjacking. The victim stated to officers that while he was in his vehicle in the parking lot, he was approached by two black males who demanded he get out of the car. When he refused, they began assaulting him with their fists. The victim accelerated to get away and drove over a curb, disabling the vehicle. No weapons were seen, but the victim stated that as he drove off, one of the suspects reached toward his waist as if he was in possession of a handgun. Once the vehicle became disabled, the victim abandoned it. The suspects then entered the vehicle and stole the victim's cell phone. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction. Suspects:
1) Black male, short, stocky build, approximately 40 years old, wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt
2) Black male, tall, thin build, approximately 35 years of age, wearing a black ski mask and black clothing

Handgun Violation / Stolen Tag - Hanover

On December 9, 2023, at approximately 4:25 p.m., officers were patrolling the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover when they encountered a white 2020 Dodge Charger displaying a stolen registration plate. The vehicle was occupied by one male suspect, who was detained. Within the vehicle, officers observed a loaded black Polymer 80 handgun between the driver's seat and the driver's door. During the investigation, officers discovered that the suspect was prohibited from possessing handguns. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
