On August 3, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of an assault that just occurred at the Arundel Mills Mall, 7000 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. Investigation revealed that an adult male accused a 14-year-old male of stealing his phone and subsequently grabbed him around the throat, and strangled him. Officers uncovered evidence corroborating the statements provided by the victim. The juvenile did not have the suspect’s phone in his possession, and there was no evidence to suggest that the juvenile ever took the suspect’s phone. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
