Robbery - Linthicum

On August 2, 2023, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers responded for a robbery of a cab driver in the 900 block of International Drive in Linthicum. The driver reported he was completing a fare for a female passenger. As they arrived at their destination, the female displayed a knife and demanded cash from the driver. The female fled the taxi but was quickly located by responding officers and was arrested and charged accordingly.

Northern District
Recovered Stolen Vehicles - Brooklyn

On August 3, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of 5th Avenue in Brooklyn. Investigation revealed that four suspects arrived in the area in a maroon Hyundai SUV and parked on Old Riverside Road. The suspects exited that vehicle and walked over to a silver KIA SUV, broke the window, and all four suspects entered the vehicle and, a few moments later, drove away. Upon further inspection of the Hyundai that the suspects arrived in, officers learned that it was reported stolen. At approximately 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle collision that just occurred in the area of Ritchie Highway and Mountain Road. The victim indicated that they were struck by a silver KIA SUV that was occupied by 6-7 suspects. During a canvas of the area, officers located the suspect vehicle and discovered that it was the previously stolen KIA from the Brooklyn incident. As officers attempted to make contact with the occupants, all seven fled on foot and were subsequently apprehended. Three 14-year-old males, one 14-year-old female, and one 13-year-old male were charged accordingly. This is an active and ongoing investigation. Eastern District
Shooting (Non-contact) - Glen Burnie

On August 2, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of a non-contact shooting that just occurred in the 7900 block of Silent Wind Court in Glen Burnie. Investigation revealed that numerous subjects were loitering in the court when the complainant heard approximately five gunshots. After hearing the gunshots, all of the subjects left the area in three different vehicles. The vehicles were last seen turning onto Elvaton Road towards Hospital Drive. There were no reports of physical injuries or property damage associated with the incident. In the area surrounding the court, officers located evidence related to the gunshots. Suspicious Activity - Millersville

On August 2, 2023, a victim reported suspicious activity that occurred on July 27, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m. The victim was driving on Cecil Avenue South in Millersville when she was boxed in by two vehicles, a white KIA sedan occupied by two suspects and a blue KIA sedan occupied by one suspect. A male wearing a mask approached her on foot. The victim believed the male was going to rob her of her vehicle. She was able to maneuver her vehicle and drive away. Both vehicles pursued the victim. However, she was able to elude them. Based on the information provided, officers were able to determine that the white Kia was reported stolen and the blue KIA was displaying a District of Columbia registration plate listed to another vehicle. Northern District
Fatal Collision - Glen Burnie (UPDATE)

On August 1, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Ritchie Highway at Norfolk Road in Glen Burnie. The preliminary investigation would reveal that a 2021 Ford SUV was traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway approaching Norfolk Road. At the same time, a 2016 Toyota sedan was traveling northbound on Ritchie Highway and attempted to make a left turn onto Norfolk Road into the path of the Ford, causing a collision.
 
The driver and passenger of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for advanced medical care. The passenger was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries. Notifications are pending for the fatality.
 
The Traffic Safety Section is investigating.
