Northern District

Carjacking - Brooklyn

On August 22, 2023, at approximately 12:05 a.m., officers responded for a report of a carjacking that just occurred in the 700 block of Cross Street in Brooklyn. Investigation revealed that the victim was riding his motorized scooter in the area when he was pursued by a black Hyundai sedan. The driver of the Hyundai rammed the rear end of the scooter, knocking the victim to the ground. The Hyundai stopped and two occupants got out, jumped on the victim's scooter, and fled. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Eastern District

Attempt Robbery - Pasadena

On August 21, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of an attempted robbery that occurred earlier near Kings Bench Place and Notley Road in Pasadena. The victim reported that he was approached by two white males who were operating a green ATV. The victim went on to say that the suspects attempted to hit him with the ATV, and pointed a black handgun at him while demanding money and property. The victim ran from the suspects and the suspects fled on the ATV. Western District

Armed Carjacking - Laurel

On August 21, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of an armed carjacking that just occurred at the Corridor Marketplace in Laurel. The victim advised that while sitting in his car he was approached by two black male suspects, one armed with a black handgun. The suspects ordered the victim to “leave everything and get out.” The suspects took the victim's vehicle and fled. During their canvas, officers responded to the area of Jill Lane and Ertter Drive and located the victim's vehicle. Officers observed the two suspects, as described by the victim, standing outside of the vehicle.  After a brief foot pursuit, one of the suspects was apprehended. The suspect that was apprehended was positively identified by the victim and later found to be in possession of the victim's cellphone. Western District detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident and are actively working to locate the second suspect.
