Shooting (Non-Contact) - Glen Burnie

On August 18, 2026, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Northern District officers responded to the 100 block of Sloane Drive in Glen Burnie for an unknown disturbance. Information was provided that a suspect armed with a firearm had discharged a round at a vehicle. Investigation revealed there was a verbal dispute between two individuals over rent. One suspect fired a single round at the victim' s vehicle, striking the front bumper and hood area as the victim attempted to exit the apartment complex parking lot. The handgun was recovered hidden in the bushes near the entrance of Sloane Drive. No injuries were reported or observed. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Carjacking Arrest - Laurel

On August 18, 2026, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 3500 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road for a carjacking. Officers spoke with the female victim, who advised that a male suspect approached her, produced a knife, and demanded the keys to her vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect took the keys and drove east on Laurel Fort Meade Road with the victim’s vehicle. Responding officers located the vehicle a short distance away unoccupied with a knife seen in plain view inside the vehicle. Western District patrol officers conducted additional investigation and observed the suspect walking in the 3300 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road. The suspect was positively identified, arrested and charged accordingly.
