Robbery/Attempted Robbery Arrest - Glen Burnie

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Northern District officers responded to the 7200 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie for a citizen robbery. The 27-year-old female victim had retrieved cash from an ATM at the Bank of America and was approached by a male suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded money from her. The victim ran, but the suspect caught up to her, robbed her of her cash and cell phone, and fled. While on-scene, officers received information regarding an attempted robbery in the 7400 block of Ritchie Highway by a suspect matching the description of the citizen robbery suspect. The male approached a victim’s vehicle in a drive-through ATM lane and attempted to open the victim’s door. The victim believed the suspect was attempting to commit a robbery. The victim was able to get away from the suspect. A responding officer located the suspect, who was in possession of a replica firearm and the robbery victim’s cash and cell phone. He was arrested and charged.

Theft From Auto Arrest - Glen Burnie

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Northern District officers responded for a report of two suspects breaking into vehicles. Officers observed an individual matching the description of one suspect walking in the area. The individual was detained without incident. Other responding officers observed the second suspect, who fled on foot. A brief foot pursuit ensued, but officers were unable to locate him. A witness positively identified the first suspect (juvenile), who was cited and released to a parent. Additional investigation led to two backpacks being recovered. Both backpacks contained evidence related to theft from autos. The investigation is ongoing.

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Gambrills

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Western District officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 2300 block of Brandermill Boulevard in Gambrills. Responding officers met with witnesses who advised they heard gunshots coming from the parking lot near the Target store. One witness stated a male dressed in all black clothing fired shots toward a group of males dressed in all black and immediately fled the area in a black SUV driven by another suspect. Officers located several spent shell casings and one live round on the ground. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. A vehicle was damaged by one of the fired projectiles. Recovered Stolen Auto Arrest - Gambrills

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Western District officers received information regarding a stolen vehicle from another jurisdiction. An officer initially located the vehicle at the rear of Crofton Cantina, but the vehicle fled. Officers did not pursue the vehicle, which struck the median at Route 3 and Waugh Chapel Road. The vehicle, a 2020 Mazda CX-9, became disabled, and the suspect fled on foot. With the assistance of the police K9 and helicopter units, the suspect was taken into custody in the Waugh Chapel Shopping Center. Additionally, the suspect was served multiple warrants from outside jurisdictions as well as from Anne Arundel County.
