Weapons Offense - Glen Burnie

On August 15, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a police sergeant was on routine patrol when he observed two vehicles being operated recklessly westbound on Mountain Road approaching Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, with one vehicle tailgating the other at high rates of speed. The tailgating vehicle followed the other into the lot of Geresbeck’s Market, where both vehicles were stopped by the sergeant as the tailgating vehicle was attempting to cut off the path of the other vehicle. During the investigation, the sergeant determined that the reckless operation of both vehicles stemmed from a road rage incident. The driver of the tailgating vehicle was determined to be driving under the influence and was taken into custody. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a non-serialized semi-automatic handgun. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

On August 15, 2023, at approximately 12:05 a.m., officers responded to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center for a report of a stabbing victim. The 19-year-old male victim was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives interviewed the victim, however, they were unable to determine the time of occurrence, location, or any circumstances of the stabbing. On August 14, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a stabbing that just occurred at the Wendy’s, 1064 Crain Highway in Crofton. During their investigation, officers learned that as the victim was getting into her vehicle in the parking lot, she was approached by the suspect and was stabbed several times in her torso. The victim was familiar with the suspect and provided his identity to officers. The suspect fled in a vehicle prior to officers' arrival and was no longer at the scene. The victim was transported to an area trauma center with serious injuries. This is an active and ongoing investigation, charges have been applied for against the suspect, and a warrant has been issued. The Fugitive Apprehension Team is actively seeking the suspect.

Robbery of a Citizen - Gambrills

On August 14, 2023, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery of a citizen that just occurred at the Navy Federal Credit Union, 1356 Main Chapel Way in Gambrills. Investigation revealed that as the victim exited the bank, a black BMW SUV pulled up next to him. The passenger got out of the vehicle, pointed a handgun at the victim, and demanded money. The victim handed the money over to the suspect, who got back into the SUV and fled.
