Stolen Vehicle/Drug Arrest - Orchard Beach

On April 5, 2024, at approximately 1:13 p.m., officers responded for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers observed the stolen Infiniti parked in a driveway in the 8200 block of Highpoint Road in Orchard Beach. Officers then observed two individuals exiting the stolen Infiniti and a foot chase ensued with one suspect being apprehended by officers. After additional investigation, the suspect who arrived in the vehicle was also arrested. A search warrant was obtained for the residence resulting in the recovery of a Raven Arms 25 auto loaded with 6 rounds of ammunition, a Mossberg 500 shotgun loaded with 7 rounds of ammunition along with various rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 26.5 grams of crack cocaine, 8.07 grams of cocaine, 69 Oxycodone pills, $770 in U.S. Currency and drug packaging materials were seized.

Citizen Robbery (Armed) - Hanover

On April 6, 2024, at approximately 11:47 p.m., officers responded to the Maryland Live Casino garage for a report of a citizen robbery. Officers learned the adult male and adult female victims were walking into the elevator when they were approached by two suspects who were armed with handguns and wearing ski masks. The suspects took money and personal items from the victims and fled the scene in a gray Jeep Cherokee. Officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. Western District Detectives responded and are investigating. .

Theft From Auto Arrest - Hanover

On April 6, 2024, at approximately 2:54 a.m., officers responded to the parking garage of the Hotel at Arundel Preserve in reference to a suspect stealing tires and rims. Officers located the suspect standing at the victim's vehicle which was up on a car jack. The suspect was wearing black gloves with a lug wrench behind him at his feet. The suspect had taken one tire off entirely and placed it in the back seat of his vehicle and was in the process of removing a second tire. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Fatal Crash - Lothian

On April 6, 2024, at approximately 1:36 a.m., Southern District officers responded to Sands Road near Patuxent Mobile Estates for a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 2012 Infiniti G37 was traveling northbound on Sands Road at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the southbound lane, and struck a utility pole on the opposite side of the road. The vehicle continued in a northbound direction on the opposite side of the road and then struck a tree. The driver and front seat passenger were transported to University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center with serious injuries. One of the backseat passengers was transported to MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center with serious injuries. The other backseat passenger was transported by Trooper 2 to University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and died on April 7, 2024.
