Police Press Release - April 4, 2019

NORTHERN DISTRICT
 
CDS Violation / Arrest                                                                            Brooklyn Park
 
At April 3, 2019 at approximately 2:30 p.m., detectives from the Northern District Tactical Patrol Unit were patrolling the Brooklyn Park area of Anne Arundel County. At approximately 2:30 p.m., detectives observed the operator of an Acura TSX not wearing a safety belt and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, a narcotics canine positively alerted to the presence of a controlled dangerous substance inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of the following:
 
  • Bag of suspected crack cocaine, 29 grams
  • Bag of suspected powder cocaine, 13. 9 grams
  • Digital scale and multiple cell phones
  • $2,914 in US currency
 
The driver was arrested and transported to Northern District. The Acura was also seized.

On April 4, 2019 at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the Brass Rail pub for reports of shots fired. Responding officers discovered that a large fight broke out inside of the bar which then continued out into the parking lot. As the fight continued onto the parking lot, two gunshots were heard outside. No one was injured by the gunshots. Detectives are working to identify potential persons of interest. This investigation in ongoing.
