Assault (knife) - Glen Burnie

On April 27, 2023, at approximately noon, officers responded to the Giant Food located in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway for an assault. Officers learned that two citizens got into an argument in the parking lot. One of the parties pulled a knife, lunged at the victim, and then fled on foot. Officers located the suspect, and he was arrested and charged accordingly.

On April 28, 2023, at approximately 3:30 in the morning, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting at the 7-11 located in the 5600 block of Ritchie Highway. Upon arrival, officers learned that when the suspect was confronted by the clerk, she produced and threatened them with a tire iron. The female was located and arrested.

On April 27, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane in Glen Burnie for a complaint of an armed subject. While canvassing the area, officers heard what they believed to be multiple gunshots. Multiple shell casings were found as well as damage to an unoccupied vehicle. Wtnesses described the suspects as four black male juveniles in all dark clothing wearing masks. On April 27, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of New Freetown Road and Freetown Road. During the stop, a K9 developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The driver took off in the car, and the vehicle was disabled by stop sticks, and the driver fled on foot. While being taken into custody, the suspect assaulted the officer. The subsequent search revealed:

Suspected Promethazine 498.55 grams
Suspected Marijuana, 2 grams

On April 28, 2023, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting in a clearing in the woods just south of Woodwardville. With the assistance of AACoPD aviation, the scene was located approximately ⅓ mile down a dirt road. Investigation revealed that the suspect responded to the property manager’s request for assistance with trespassing dirt bikers. The suspect armed himself with a rifle, confronted the victims, and fired two rounds, striking one of the bikes. The suspect stood by with the victims until officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident. There were minor injuries reported by one of the victims, but not from the shots being fired. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
