Vandalism / Hate Crime - Glen Burnie

Detectives assigned to the Northern District Detective Unit are investigating a destruction of property that occurred on the property of the Saint Albans Episcopal Church in Glen Burnie. The investigation revealed that on April 21, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a male and female teenager broke a piece of concrete off of a flower bed and then used it to damage a memorial plaque standing in the garden. This incident is classified as a hate crime because a religious entity owns the damaged property. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 410-222-6135. Robbery (Commercial) - Severn

Detectives assigned to the Regional Crimes Unit are investigating the April 23rd armed robbery of the Royal Farms store located at 1624 Annapolis Road in Severn. At approximately 1:00 a.m., a male suspect approached the counter, displayed the handle of a pistol tucked into his clothing, and demanded cash. The employee complied, and the suspect fled on foot toward Blue Water Boulevard. Western District

Serious Injury Crash - Gambrills

On April 22, 2024, at approximately 10:25 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Crain Highway (Route 3) near Waugh Chapel Road in Gambrills. The investigation would reveal that a 2009 Peterbilt flatbed tow truck was stopped in traffic at a red traffic signal, waiting for the light to change. At that time, a 2012 Honda Pilot approached the stopped traffic when it failed to slow and struck the rear of the tow truck. The Honda then left the roadway and came to rest amongst roadside shrubbery and trees. The Honda driver was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. He was later transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by Maryland State Police Trooper 2. The Traffic Safety Section is investigating this crash.
