Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash - Lothian

On April 21, 2026, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Southern District officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Solomons Island Road near Ducks Lane. Once on the scene, the Crash Reconstruction Team was requested.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford F-350 towing a dump trailer was traveling southbound on Solomons Island Road behind a Honda Accord. The operator of the Honda braked suddenly, causing the Ford to strike the left rear and the driver’s side of the Honda. As a result of the collision, both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway into a wooded area. The Honda subsequently struck a tree head-on.
The operator of the Honda was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford declined medical treatment at the scene. The Anne Arundel County Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
