Serious Injury Crash                                                                                               Hanover

On April 16, 2019 at approximately 8:06 p.m., officers responded to Clark Road near Linda Place in Hanover for a crash involving a juvenile pedestrian. Preliminary investigation showed that a Toyota was westbound on Clark Road when a pedestrian was crossing Clark Road.  The Toyota driver did not see the pedestrian and struck her in the travel lane.  The pedestrian was initially transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with life threatening injuries.  She has then transferred to Johns Hopkins pediatrics where she ultimately died from her injuries.

The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be pedestrian error. Speed may have also contributed to this crash.  The driver remained at the scene and there is no indication of alcohol use.  The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.
