Handgun Arrest - Curtis Bay

On September 6, 2026, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Eastern District officers initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation in the area of Kembo Road and Swan Creek Drive in Curtis Bay. During the traffic stop, officers located a rear passenger attempting to conceal a loaded handgun in the vehicle. The passenger was arrested and charged.

Air Bag Theft Spree - Glen Burnie / Odenton / Crofton
On September 7, 2026, Northern District officers responded to the area of Americana Circle in Glen Burnie for a report of multiple thefts of airbags from Honda Vehicles during the overnight hours. Additionally, officers in the Western District responded to seven reported thefts of airbags from Honda vehicles during the overnight hours in the Piney Orchard Parkway area in Odenton and other areas in Crofton. During most of these incidents, suspect(s) made a forced entry into vehicles and stole airbags. Officers responded to canvas all the affected areas, but no suspects were located.
Community members are encouraged to take the following precautions:
- When a garage is unavailable, park in a well-lit and visible location.
- Lock all doors and close all windows.
- Use a visible steering-wheel lock or other anti-theft device as an added deterrent.
- Consider an alarm equipped with glass-break or impact detection.
- Ensure exterior lighting and security cameras cover the vehicle.
- Do not leave valuables or charging cables visible inside the vehicle.
- Report suspicious activity promptly and do not confront suspicious individuals.
Community members with home or business cameras are asked to review and preserve recordings of suspicious persons or vehicles in areas where thefts have occurred. Provide video and information directly to responding officers or investigators rather than posting it publicly, as disclosing this information could interfere with the investigation.
