Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash - Curtis Bay

On August 24, 2026, at approximately 9:40 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a motor scooter at Fort Smallwood Road and Hilltop Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Mazda 6 was traveling south on Fort Smallwood Road and attempted to turn left onto Hilltop Road. A Zhejiang motor scooter was traveling north on Fort Smallwood Road when the Mazda turned in front of it, causing the scooter to impact the passenger side. The operator of the scooter was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on August 25, 2026.
The Anne Arundel County Police Crash Reconstruction Team will be handling the investigation.

On August 25, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Eastern District Strategic Patrol Detectives observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the area of Faywood Avenue and Winborne Drive. Detectives detained the suspect and recovered suspected drugs and currency. Detectives seized 12.41 grams of suspected Fentanyl and 5.23 grams of suspected Crack Cocaine. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute and related offenses.
