Jug Bay’s Emory Waters Nature Preserve

Discover the abundant wildlife and plants in the wetlands along the Patuxent River, while learning about what made this waterway important to British and American forces during the War of 1812. Learn local history from National Park Service staff that most people are unfamiliar with, including the where the British landed before marching to, capturing & burning Washington DC. Trips are 4 hours long. Paddlers can expect to actively paddle for 2.5 to 3 hours.
