A public Information session has been scheduled from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM on August 27, 2026 online to discuss the renovation of the old Giant property into the Edgewater Community Center. During the meeting the Resilience Authority and the Department of Recreation & Parks will update residents on planned improvements, including an indoor playground, a gymnasium, pickleball/badminton courts, yoga and dance rooms, a gaming room, party rooms, a raised walking track, and a multipurpose community meeting space. Preliminary Interior demolition is already completed and large-scale construction is starting.
This project will not require removal of trees and exterior site improvements will be made at a later date once the building is in operation. While the community can plan to see trucks coming and going, there are no planned impacts to traffic, water, or wastewater services.
